Dumalo sina Commissioner Reynders at Johansson sa Justice and Home Affairs Council sa ika-4 at ika-5 ng Disyembre

Ngayon (4 December) at bukas (5 December), Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders (Nakalarawan) at Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson ay dadalo sa Justice and Home Affairs Council, na magaganap sa Brussels.

Ngayon, Commissioner Reynders will participate in the meeting of Justice Ministers, where the focus will be set on reaching a general approach on a new EU law on the transfer of proceedings in criminal matters, approve the Council position on the application of the GDPR, and adopt the European e-Justice Strategy 2024-2028. Ministers will discuss the proposed revision of the Directive on victims’ rights and exchange their views on the ongoing fight against impunity in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, EU’s accession to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR) and the functioning of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Komisyonado Reynders ay magbibigay ng update sa mga negosasyon ng EU-US sa pag-access sa elektronikong ebidensya, at sa taunang ulat sa aplikasyon ng Charter of Fundamental Rights. Susuriin din ng mga ministro ang dalawang kamakailang Ministerial na pagpupulong sa Justice at Home Affairs kasama ang kanilang mga katapat sa US at Western Balkans. Panghuli, ia-update din ng Spanish Council Presidency ang mga ministro sa paghirang ng Direktor para sa European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA). Ang press conference kasama si Commissioner Reynders at ang Ministro para sa Hustisya ng Espanya, si Félix Bolaños, ay magaganap sa +/- 18:15 (CEST) at maaaring sundan online sa EBS.

Noong Martes, Commissioner Johansson will participate in the meeting of Home Affairs Ministers, together with ministers of Schengen Associated countries. In the morning, participants will discuss the overall state of the Schengen area with a focus on effectiveness of return systems, as well as the situation at the EU external border in Finland. In the afternoon, the ministers will exchange views on the consequences and implications of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and of the situation in the Middle East for the EU’s internal security. They will also discuss progress on the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the external dimension of migration. The ministers will also discuss progress on the Council Recommendation on a Blueprint regarding critical infrastructure.
